1. provide /prə'vaɪd/ vt. 提供，供应
to give something to someone or make it available to them, because they need it or want it
用法
(1) provide sth for sb
e.g. The hotel provides a shoe-cleaning service for guests.
(2) provide sb with sth
e.g. The project provides Damon with work.
句型转换中，以及在任务型阅读中，常考点：provide sth. for sb. =provide sb. with sth. 需要注意介词的使用。

2. offer /'ɒfə/ vt. 提出，提供
to ask someone if they would like to have something, or to hold something out to them so that they can take it
用法
(1) offer sb sth
e.g. Can I offer you something to drink?
(2) offer sth to sb
e.g.The school offers places to students who can show talent.
